Winter Arts Festival featuring Winter Plein Air painting hosted by the Grand Marais Art Colony and Snow Sculptures displayed Friday, Jan. 31 at locations from Tofte to Grand Marais and up the Gunflint Trail.
Meet the painters and sculptors at an Open House reception Fri. Jan. 31
from 6 – 7 pm at the Grand Marais Art Colony.
Plein Air paintings will be on display at the colony through Feb. 23rd.
Take a Snow Sculpture tour and see all the diverse and beautiful areas of Cook County, a perfect opportunity to have a video or photo log of your trip!
Start on Hwy. 61 heading North and start your tour: Bluefin Bay Resort in Tofte followed by Caribou Highlands Lodge and Eagle Ridge Resort on Ski Hill Rd in Lutsen.
Then on to Grand Marais to see the Snow Sculpture Park in Harbor Park sponsored by Joynes Ben Franklin, Best Western and Art House B & B. Drive on 5th Ave. to the Gunflint Trail, turn left and follow it to Bearskin Lodge (about mid-trail).
Ridge Riders Snowmobile Fun Run, Saturday, February 1st
locations along the Gunflint Trail. $20.00 registration fee, register at 9:30 am – 12 noon and be on your way starting either from Devil Track Resort or Hungry Jack Lodge. End at Devil Track Resort by 6:30 pm. Evening festivities at Devil Track Resort, all are welcome to join at no cover charge for prize drawings, raffles, food, and music.
