Grand Marais, MN 55604

It’s one of our favorite weekends of the summer! A chance to show off the joys of paddle sports in the place that shows it off best: Grand Marais, Minnesota. Here are just some of the events going on all weekend. And be sure to check back often, as the list of events is continuing to update.

DEMO DAYS: Want to test the newest kayaks, canoes and paddle boards? Interested in checking out the latest outdoor gear? Want to look stylish while you’re paddling in the water or hiking in the woods? Trying to figure out how to transport your gear around?Join us in the Grand Marais Harbor on Saturday, July 22nd and Sunday, July 23rd. We’ve got boat and equipment demonstrations going from 9:30 – 4:00 on Saturday and 10:30 - 3:30 on Sunday. And it’s everyone’s favorite price: free! Just stop on by and we’ll get you out on the water.

PADDLE BOARD YOGA: This is your chance to try SUP Yoga in the Grand Marais Harbor. The gentle waves of the harbor provide an invigorating core workout but the best part is floating back on your board in savasana. Don’t know what that means? Come to the class and find out. Note: Class size is limited for the Paddle Board Yoga, so if you want to participate, register online here: http://bit.ly/2r6jiKx

FILM FESTIVAL: Films about the great outdoors combined with beer? Genius! Voyageur Brewing is hosting the film festival. For $10, you can see some great films and have a pint of beer. We have reached North Shore Nirvana! Here are the films:
• Superior Dream
• When the Waves Call
• Cold Love

AUTHOR PRESENTATION & BOOK SIGNING: Mark Neuzil and Norman Sims have written more than a mere book–it is an ode to the North Country’s most iconic form of transportation, the canoe. And Drury Lane Books is hosting Mark to tell us all about Canoes: A Natural History in North America. After a glorious day in the sun, step inside for a bit on Sunday, July 23rd at 5:00 pm for Mark Neuzil’s presentation and book signing.

The North Shore Water Festival is held in cooperation with and funding from Visit Cook County, Grand Marais Tourism Association and the Downtown Business Coalition.
