Spring in Cook County

Spring North for Adventure

Spring in Cook County is truly one-of-a-kind. A spring day may be sunny and bright but still have record snowfall. It’s also an enjoyably long and diverse season, beginning in March and wrapping up in June. It kicks off with sprinter–the tail end of winter that boasts sunny days, lovely temps and perfect snow for hiking, downhill skiing and snowboarding and cross country skiing.

Then we’ll have a more traditional spring awakening, when ice recedes, groundwater swells and our landscape comes alive with waterfalls, wildflowers and animal activity. Spring is always an adventure. We recommend packing for t-shirt weather, fresh snow and everywhere in between, so you’ll be ready to enjoy it all.
