Trails are rideable, but with warmer weather happening this week, there are many bare or icy spots. Generally the trails are better as you get further from the lake, but still have some bare spots and hills.
Note: Reservation River Trail is closed.
There are many bare spots, rocks are showing up but mosr are small areas and we navigated them last weekend. Ridiing will be fair at best this weekend with cold temps and icy conditions. The lakes for the most part have little to no snow. Groomers are going out Fri and Sat nights to do what we can with what we have. They reported pushing 20 trees off the trails Tuesday night while out grooming. State trail toward Finland was pretty good last weekend. Lutsen reports fair snow above the snow line and Grand Portage says trails are ridable. Don't expect good or great conditions. Use caution as there are hazards on all the trails. Riders have enjoyed the trails the past few days - but especially today, Saturday, March 18. The upper trails of Caribou, Deer, Muehlber, Lutsen Access, Mountain Access, and Eagle have provided good riding. No trails nearer Lake Superior offer you much in the way of good riding. Some areas are still icy so use caution.

There's still plenty of snow on upper trails, but all of the lower trails have a lot of ice and some bare spots
