The Death and Life of the Great Lakes by Dan Egan. The Great Lakes hold 20 percent of the world’s supply of surface freshwater and provide livelihoods and recreation for tens of millions of Americans. Prize-winning reporter, Dan Egan, blends the story of the lakes and the sense of place they provide to so many, with an examination of the threats they face, offering a variety of ways we can work to restore and preserve them for future generations. Join us for this read, part history, part science, and part personal narrative.
Participants will meet on the first date to get to know one another and discuss an overview of their book, spend the month reading, and return on February 21 for a final discussion. This event will remain open until January 22nd, 2018. Please register before this date.
