Briand Morrison’s exploration of jazz music on guitar delivers an eloquent language in and of itself, with every performance bringing us new improvisations as he weaves together modes of perception in scales and rhythms to create a landscape of improvised music.
Listeners enjoy a wide variety of tunes including John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Richard Rogers and Thelonious Monk along with favorite 70’s rock from Steely Dan to Stevie Wonder plus original jazz and tunes composed by Briand Morrison.
Briand Morrison is a guitar player with a wide range of musical interests and great love for music of many idioms and styles. He is an accomplished jazz, rock and blues player. Briand has 37 years of performance experience and has taught guitar and lectured in music theory and history. He studied guitar performance at the West Bank School of Music in Minneapolis and Berklee College of Music in Boston. Through Briand’s vast experience he is blessed with an inveterate fondness and profound desire to play jazz. His guitar playing will remind you of the great Wes Montgomery – smooth, warm, innovative – appealing to both jazz aficionados and anyone who likes great guitar playing.
