If you’re looking for an exhilarating hike and breathtaking panoramic views of Lake Superior, Grand Portage Bay, Isle Royale and the Susie Islands, ascend the summit of Mount Josephine. This 2.5-mile hike is challenging, rewarding and so much fun. Hop a ferry to Isle Royale National Park, or launch your own boat from the Grand Portage Marina and RV Campground.

Round out your day by trying your luck at the beautifully renovated Grand Portage Lodge & Casino. You’ll find fun, games, events, exquisite dining and connections to a range of trails, including Cook County’s extensive network of snowmobile trails. 

Lastly, don’t miss the opportunity to celebrate Grand Portage’s heritage each August with the National Park Services’ Rendezvous Days and the Grand Portage Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Pow-Wow, voted one of the Top 100 U.S. events by the American Bus Association.

The Grand Portage Band of Lake Superior Chippewa, a federally-recognized Tribal sovereign nation, asks visitors to be mindful when using Tribal roads, trails, lakes and lake shores.
