Event Navigation

The Cook County Tennis Association (CCTA) will be providing a new opportunity for outdoor pickleball play this season at the CCTA tennis facility in Grand Marais, MN.
Pickleball is the fastest growing sport in North America, and Grand Marais is no exception with indoor play at the YMCA having grown significantly. Now local and visiting pickleball players will have an opportunity to play pickleball outdoors during the summer season. Starting in May, the CCTA will have two official pickleball courts lined and nets available for pickleball play. The pickleball courts will be located on Court 3, on the north west side of the CCTA facility. The CCTA also has a limited number of racquets and balls available for people interested in trying out the game.
Drop in pickleball will be available all season Monday through Friday from 1-3 PM. Starting in June, an additional drop in time will be added on Monday- Wednesday-Friday from 8-10 AM. Of course, the courts are available for play anytime unless there is a conflicting scheduled activity. In addition to regular play, the CCTA plans to hold monthly pickleball socials as well as offer instruction from Charles Darley, CCTA Director of Instruction.
While play is available to all, the CCTA encourages players to join the CCTA. Membership cost is modest and helps the CCTA defray the cost of court and facility maintenance. You can join the CCTA by visiting www.playtenniscookcounty.org.
