Grand Portage Rendezvous Days celebrates the incredible cultural collision that gave rise to a flourishing international business in the remote, and virtually impassable, interior of North America. Local Native populations provided vital technical support to the fur trade – including transportation methods like birch bark canoes – that allowed hardy voyageurs to paddle tons of furs and trade goods thousands of miles through a complicated series of rivers, lakes and portages to rendezvous at Grand Portage to rest, transfer company goods, conduct business, renew friendships, and celebrate.

There’s fun for the whole family at Grand Portage Rendezvous Days, and admission for all events and activities is FREE! With plenty of free parking and an on-site shuttle service, moving between locations is a

breeze. Make plans to come spend the day! Grand Portage welcomes visitors for relaxation or play. Grand Portage is just two and a half hours north of Duluth, MN and less than one hour south of Thunder Bay,  Ontario. Warm  welcomes guaranteed.
