Alpine Slide at Lutsen Mountains
You’ll find one-of-a-kind thrills in Cook County, Minnesota—like the family-friendly Alpine Slide at Lutsen Mountains.
If you’re looking for fun things to do in Lutsen, riding the slide is a great choice for kids and adults. Getting there is half the fun with a leisurely chairlift ride to the summit of Eagle Mountain, one of the four peaks that compose Lutsen Mountains. Savor the views of Lake Superior, the Superior National Forest, and the Sawtooth Mountain Range. Then get into your sled and get ready for a rollercoaster ride, North Shore style. There’s a half mile of twisting and turning track which brings you back down to the base of the mountain.
You control how fast you ride from top to bottom. Speed demon? Go full throttle. Whip through the switchbacks so quickly the trees will blur and you’ll shriek with glee. No need for speed? Just take it easy and soak in the sights. It’s amusement park fun the whole family will enjoy – done up in classic North Shore ambience.
The Alpine Slide is typically open May through October. Children ages 2-5 are free with a paid adult and must ride with a guest 16 or older. Children 6+ are required to purchase a ticket for the alpine slide, however, if they are under 48″ they may ride with a guest 16 or older if necessary. All children over 48″ must ride in their own sled.
