Cook County Chamber Legislative Luncheon
The Cook County Chamber hosts 1st ever Legislative Luncheon in Cook County
October 28th, 2024 – Grand Marais, MN- The Cook County Chamber of Commerce held its first-ever Legislative Luncheon at Up Yonder on October 24th. The event provided an opportunity for local business owners to connect with the Chamber’s new governmental affairs and lobbying team Carnival Berns P.A. and state leaders Senator Hauschild, Representative Skraba, and Director Roy Smith of the IRRR. The Chamber’s 2025 legislative goals and priorities were the main topic of conversation.
“The Cook County Chamber of Commerce understands the importance of our members having individual time not only with our lobbyists but also with our state representatives” said Linda Jurek, Executive Director for the Cook County Chamber of Commerce and Visit Cook County. “This gives our community business owners an opportunity to address their legislative concerns prior to the season beginning.”
Attendees engaged in productive discussions with the lobbying team, providing valuable input and insights on key issues impacting the business community in Cook County.
The Legislative Luncheon marks a significant milestone in the Chamber's ongoing efforts to advocate for a thriving business environment in Cook County. By fostering collaboration and communication between business owners and policymakers, the Chamber aims to create a stronger, more prosperous future for the entire community.
