Northern Goods Grand Opening & Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
Cook County Celebrates Successful Launch of Retail Store & Microtel
June 7th, 2025 – Grand Marais, Minn. – The Cook County Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting ceremony on Saturday, June 7th, to celebrate the grand opening of Northern Goods formerly Stone Harbor Wilderness Supply. The event marked the official opening of their new retail store and the Microtel located directly above the store in downtown Grand Marais.
Guests enjoyed the celebration, exploring all the new products in the retail space, from unique local crafts to the perfect coffee cups. The atmosphere was filled with smiles, enthusiasm, and refreshing beer from the local brewery, Voyageur Brewing.
“Northern Goods and the new Microtel are a fantastic addition, offering a new opportunity for shopping and lodging in the Grand Marais area,” said Linda Jurek, Executive Director of the Cook County Chamber of Commerce. “We are thrilled to celebrate this milestone and welcome Mitch & Steph Reaume to our business community.”
The new Northern Goods retail space showcases an extensive selection of handcrafted items, apparel, unique gifts, including popular items like handmade earrings and State of Minnesota ice cube trays. Customers will find a wide variety of goods to explore. Above the retail store, the newly opened Microtel provides modern and comfortable lodging. We highly encourage the community and visitors to stop in, introduce yourselves, and check out the store!
