Two Legislative Bonding Tours Scheduled in Cook County
Two separate legislative bonding tours to visit Cook County, highlighting the success of the Chamber's advocacy efforts

September 24, 2025 – Grand Marais, Minn. – The Cook County Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce that Cook County has been added to the Minnesota Senate Capital Investment Committee’s bonding tour. This inclusion follows the previously announced visit by the Minnesota House Capital Investment Committee, resulting in two separate legislative bonding tours scheduled for Cook County.

This achievement is the result of focused work by the Cook County Chamber of Commerce and its lobbying firm Carnival Berns PA. The dual tours underscore the success of this collaborative effort that included a targeted video created by M Baxley of Bear Witness Media. This video effectively highlighted our critical local needs, including the wastewater treatment plant, funding for Cook County Higher Education, and the North Shore Waste transfer station.

“We are incredibly grateful to be included on both the House and Senate bonding tours,” said Linda Jurek, Executive Director of the Cook County Chamber of Commerce. “This outcome validates the strategic efforts of our Chamber and our lobbying firm, Carnival Berns PA. This presents a significant opportunity to display our community’s needs directly to state leaders”.

The scheduled visits will provide an important platform for local leaders to advocate for projects that will secure essential funding and support for the regions long-term growth and stability. We encourage community members to come on down and give a warm welcome to our legislators.

The House bonding tour will be held at the Grand Marais City Hall on October 8th at 2pm. The Senate bonding tour will also be at the Grand Marais City Hall on October 9th at 9:30am.
