FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
GRAND MARAIS, MN (Cook County) — Visit Cook County is excited to announce the release of the 2026-27 Cook County Visitor Guide, a comprehensive travel resource highlighting the outdoor recreation, arts, dining, lodging, events, and communities that make Cook County a year-round destination.
To celebrate the launch, Visit Cook County will host a public launch party on Wednesday, May 27 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Voyageur Brewing Company in Grand Marais. Community members and visitors are invited to stop by, pick up a copy of the new guide, meet the Visit Cook County team, and enjoy their first drink free during the event.
The 2026/2027 Visitor Guide features updated travel information, seasonal trip inspiration, local business listings, maps, and long-form storytelling focused on experiences throughout Grand Marais, Lutsen, Tofte, Schroeder, the Gunflint Trail, Grand Portage, and the greater Cook County area.
This year’s edition includes contributions from several Minnesota-based writers and storytellers, including Grand Marais journalist and WTIP news director Kalli Hawkins, outdoor educator and adventurer Lucas Will, family travel writer Antonia Grant, and paddling journalist and photographer Maddy Marquardt.
“The Visitor Guide is one of our favorite projects each year because it gives us a chance to showcase the people, places, and experiences that make Cook County special,” said Visit Cook County Executive Director Linda Jurek. “Whether someone is visiting for the first time or returning for the twentieth, we want this guide to help inspire deeper exploration of the county.”
The guide combines practical planning tools with editorial features and photography that capture Cook County across all four seasons. Readers will find information on hiking, paddling, fishing, local culture, scenic drives, lodging options, family travel, and more.
Printed copies of the 2026/2027 Visitor Guide will be available throughout Cook County and by request through Visit Cook County. The digital version is also available online.
