4th of July

The 4th of July–a time for swimming in the lake, rock skipping, shopping, agate hunting, donuts, long hikes, canoe trips, fudge, fireworks, and time with your family. It’s the true kick-off for summer here in the north woods and we’d love to have you join us! Take the weekend (or the whole week) to get away from the bustle of the city and enjoy what summer on the shore has to offer. Many who visit our neck of the woods end up coming back time and time again because they just cannot fit all of the fun to be had in to only one visit. Don’t wait to start planning your trip here, explore lodging options now! Plan an excursion into the BWCA then come back to civilization in time to enjoy one of the three, yes three, fireworks displays our communities put on every year in Grand Marais, Grand Portage and Tofte.
