October 18 - October 20
The Moose Madness Festival is a family-focused celebration of all things moose.
Here’s a breakdown of events for the festival in 2018, check back closer to the 2019 festival for more up to date details.
Throughout Moose Madness weekend, there are events for everyone. Activities range from the athletic to the artistic with the weekend centered on earning and spending “moose bucks.” Kiddos can earn moose bucks by participating in scavenger hunts, races, and arts activities all around town. Moose bucks can then be spent on prizes at Moose Headquarters aka Grandma Ray’s, 19 1st Avenue West, Grand Marais.
But wait, there’s more! In addition to the activities at Moose Headquarters, now at Grandma Ray’s, there are fun things to do all around town! The Lake Superior Zoomobile will be at East Bay Suites on Friday from 1-4 pm. The Moose Medallion hunt begins Friday morning at 9am and goes until the Medallion is found. Kid Rock n Roll band The Bazillions are playing at Moose HQ, Grandma Ray’s, on Saturday from 11:30am – 3:30pm! There are more details on all of these events plus a few more inside this year’s Moose News Tribune. Most importantly, Moose Madness Festival encourages families to unplug and play. Reconnect by doing the planned activities, enjoying the outdoors or learning a few facts about our celebrated mascot. Moosey memories are waiting to be made!
Moose Madness Medallion Hunt begins at 9am on Friday morning!! For the sleuths in the crowd, the moose madness medallion hunt is a hoot. The first clues are released at 9am on Friday morning and go on until it is found! Find the medallion? Bring it to Moose Central to claim your prize!
